China Post has been taking a more direct approach since the spring of 2022 in Xiamen, Fujian Province, by offering “Post Coffee” on its premises. According to the national newspaper China Daily, the goal is to turn the original “office” into an experience space.

Parking in Tržič
Slovenia
To simplify car parking and make the best use of parking spaces during the World Ski Championships, the Slovenian municipality of Tržič replaced the old ground parking sensor system with a new camera system from Telecom Slovenije. The cameras feed into a computer vision algorithm that detects vacant spaces and informs the guidance system accordingly.

Earthquake early warning system
Canada
Canada is in the process of establishing a national earthquake early warning system. A central element of this system is seismic sensors that can detect even weak signs of an earthquake. The sensors transmit the detected information to a data center, where the epicenter, magnitude, and affected regions of the earthquake are calculated. An alarm is triggered in the affected region via this system.
