Innovation Park in Zurich
Switzerland
The granting of land under building law corresponds to the principle of renting instead of selling. The right of use is granted on a very long-term basis (here: 99 years). This is how the development of the Zur-ich Innovation Park was made possible. For example, the Dübendorf Airport in Switzerland is owned by the federal government and covers almost 40 hectares. The federal government grants such land in build-ing rights to a real estate developer, who is allowed to build on the site for a specific purpose. In return, the federal government receives building lease interest as compensation.
